Smithfield, N.C. — The Executive Committee of the Triangle East Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has announced a leadership transition within the organization. Effective October 14, 2025, Maureen McGuinness is no longer serving as President & CEO of the Chamber.
The Executive Committee reached this decision following careful and thoughtful consideration. The Board expresses its deep gratitude to McGuinness for her dedication, leadership, and many contributions over the past three and a half years, which have strengthened and advanced the Chamber’s mission.
As the Chamber moves forward, the Executive Committee remains committed to ensuring a smooth transition and continuing its vital work in support of members, partners, and the broader community. At its October 17, 2025 meeting, the Executive Committee approved the promotion of Kelly Wallace, Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, to serve as President & CEO. Wallace’s initial contract will run through 2026.
“Kelly is uniquely positioned to lead the Chamber into its next chapter,” said Board Chair Lamar Armstrong, III. “As our long-time Vice President and COO — and truly a ‘jack of all trades’ — Kelly brings a deep understanding of our organization, our members, and our mission. With her experience and vision, we are confident she will continue to guide the Chamber’s growth and success for years to come.”
Please join us in welcoming Kelly Wallace as the new President & CEO of the Triangle East Chamber of Commerce.
